The Milwaukee Press Club and the MPC Endowment, Ltd.
are pleased to invite entries for the 79th annual Excellence in Wisconsin Journalism Competition

The awards competition is open to work originated and published, broadcast, or posted online in Wisconsin during the year ending Dec. 31, 2008.
 

The deadline for entries is Friday, Jan. 23, 2009 at 5pm CST

Winners will be honored at the Gridiron Awards Dinner scheduled for Friday, April 24, 2009, at the Italian Community Center in Milwaukee.

The evening will also honor this year's recipients of the Sacred Cat and Headliner Awards.
Author and commentator Frank Deford will receive this year's Sacred Cat award; the Headliner is yet to be announced.

First and second place winners will be posted to the Press Club website in advance of the Gridiron event.
