Press Club to co-sponsor county executive debate

The Milwaukee Press Club will co-sponsor a Public Policy Forum Viewpoint debate between Milwaukee County Board Executive candidates Scott Walker and Lena Taylor on Thursday, Feb. 21.

Walker, a Republican, is seeking re-election to the post and is being challenged by Taylor, a Democratic state senator from Milwaukee.

The debate will be moderated by Bill Holahan, professor at the Department of Economics at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and associate director of the UWM Center for Economic Education.

Opening remarks will be presented by Milwaukee Press Club president Marilyn Krause, senior editor/administration at the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

The public is invited to attend the debate, which will take place 11:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Italian Community Center, 631 E. Chicago St. The admission to attend is $40 for members of the Milwaukee Press Club and Public Policy Forum and $50 for non-members. Lunch and free parking are included.
