The oldest continuously operating press club in North America, and possibly the world!
Milwaukee, Wis. – January 7, 2013 – Registration for the biggest networking event of the year, the City of Milwaukee’s annual City Birthday Party, is now underway. The event will be held January 31, 2013 from 5:30-8 p.m. at the Grain Exchange, 225 E. Michigan Street.
This year’s theme “Uniquely Milwaukee: Hidden Riches Revealed” will celebrate the City’s many hidden treasures, from great bargains and unique shops, to amazing restaurants and picturesque scenes.
In honor of this year’s theme, the Press Club is inviting the community to participate in a Facebook contest testing their familiarity with hidden hot-spots, and suggesting a favorite hidden gem that makes Milwaukee a unique place we all love. The top write-in will be announced and honored at the Birthday Party. The “Hidden Riches” Facebook quiz can be accessed via the Milwaukee Press Club’s Facebook page.
The City Birthday Party annually draws top leaders – hundreds of movers, shakers and newsmakers from the southeastern Wisconsin region join Mayor Barrett, members of the Milwaukee Common Council, County Board and other leaders along with the Milwaukee Press Club to start the New Year on a positive note. It’s annually called one of the top networking events in the city, and is considered a “must attend” among many local business and community leaders.
The cost to attend the event is $25 per person. Pre-registration and advance payment is required and may be done by visiting www.milwaukeepressclub.org.
