Milwaukee Press Club to induct journalists into
Media Hall of Fame
MILWAUKEE, WI—August 24, 2007— A distinguished panel of journalists will be inducted into the Milwaukee Media Hall of Fame on Friday, Oct. 19, 2007.
The Milwaukee Press Club's Past Presidents Council nominated a talented slate of journalists and media personalities who were approved by the Press Club's Board of Governors for induction. "This year’s slate of winners is particularly memorable, honoring a number of high-achieving professionals well-known and well-respected in both Milwaukee and around the state of Wisconsin," said Jon Anne Willow, editor in chief of VITAL Source Magazine and president of the Milwaukee Press Club. “We’re proud to have these men and women take their places among Milwaukee’s finest.”
The 2007 inductees to be inducted into the Milwaukee Media Hall of Fame are:
* Fran Bauer, reporter for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel
* Dan Patrinos, reporter for the Milwaukee Sentinel and long time medical/science writer.
* Rosemary Gernette, co-host of popular talk show Dialing for Dollars on Channel 12 WISN.
* Steve Olszyk, news director for Channel 12 WISN.
* T. Lee Hughes, AP Bureau Chief in Milwaukee.
* Howard Gernette, weatherman and co-host of popular talk show Dialing for Dollars on Channel 12 WISN (deceased)
* Dale Guldan, photographer for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel (deceased)
* Leonard Sykes, reporter and editor for Milwaukee Journal Sentinel (deceased)
* Gordon MacQuarrie, outdoor writer for the Milwaukee Journal (deceased)
* Dennis Getto, restaurant critic for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel (deceased)

Relatives, friends and co-workers of the inductees, as well as members of the Milwaukee Press Club and the general public, are invited to attend. The event will take place at the Radisson Hotel Milwaukee West, 2303 N. Mayfair Road in Wauwatosa, with a reception at 5:30 p.m. and dinner at 6:30 p.m. followed by the induction ceremony. Tickets are $55 per person; tables of eight are available for $440.
