Contest entries should have been aired or published from June 1, 2007, through July 31, 2008.
Awards are presented in four categories -- beat reporting, single report, in-depth reporting and columns/commentary/news analysis – in each of seven divisions for print, radio, TV and online journalists.
A special honor, The John Aubuchon Freedom of Information Award, recognizes extraordinary efforts to get access to documents and meetings that are critical for public understanding of state government issues.

The conference is packed with helpful sessions on public policy issues, such as higher education and mental health, and tricks of the trade, such as “the art of the interview” and the growing role of multimedia. It’s also a great place to meet other statehouse reporters from all over the country.
Register early and pay a cheaper conference fee!
· Early bird registration: $125 (Must register between July 1 and Sept. 15)
· Regular registration: $150 (For those who register after Sept. 15)
· Student rate: $75 (Must be a full time undergraduate or masters student at the time of the conference.)
