A silent auction of beautifully decorated rain barrels will be part of this year's Milwaukee Press Club's City Birthday Party.
Eight barrels, donated by the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District, are being painted and decorated by local artists. The barrels will be weatherproofed and ready for installation to your downspouts when the spring thaw comes. The barrels include a hose fitting, and an overflow valve.
The artists are donating their time for this first-ever project.
Here is a peek at video showing Jennifer Espenscheid prepping her barrel with the help of her daughter:

Proceeds from the barrel auction will be given to the Press Club’s foundation and be used to pay for scholarships.
