MPC Awards for Excellence in Wisconsin Journalism

The Milwaukee Press Club is pleased to announce the call for entries for its 80th Annual Excellence in Wisconsin Journalism contest, this year with a new name: The MPC Awards for Excellence in Wisconsin Journalism. It's easier to remember, and more succinct to list with your professional accomplishments!

Download entry documents for the Professional and Collegiate divisions in PDF format on our Web site at www.milwaukeepressclub.org/contests/.  Entries must be received or postmarked by Friday, January 29, 2010.

Winners will be honored at the Gridiron Awards Dinner scheduled for Saturday, April 24, 2010, at the Italian Community Center in Milwaukee. The evening will also honor this year's recipients of the Sacred Cat and Headliner Awards.  Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and best-selling author Leonard Pitts, Jr. will receive this year's Sacred Cat award; the

Headliners will be Chief Executive Officer of Growing Power Will Allen and 1st District Court of Appeals Judge and 2006 Judge of the Year Kitty Brennan.

First and second place winners will be posted to the Press Club Web site in advance of the Gridiron event.

The awards competition is open to work originated and published, broadcast, or posted online in Wisconsin during the year ending Dec. 31, 2009.
